Ella Bruccoleri’s performance as Mary is absolutely lovely. It’s a shame this overly slight drama labours the jokes about her marriage prospects, though Lydia Bennet – the kickable youngest Bennet daughter from Jane Austen’s famous family unit, with an endless penchant for drama – has been the subject of many retellings.
