Gardaí are investigating two separate incidents in Limerick where two men were hospitalized with serious head injuries following assaults on Athlunkard Street and St Alphonsus Street.

A man is in serious condition in a Limerick hospital following an overnight assault in the city. Gardaí have closed off Athlunkard Street, a main route into the city, as part of the investigation.
