The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) are advancing talks on bus reform. Discussions focus on modernizing bus operations under the Lagos Bus Reform Initiative, including new vehicles and digital ticketing.

The Lagos State Government has affirmed that the recently launched Bus Reform Initiative (BRI) on the Lekki–Epe Corridor is designed to reduce traffic congestion, enhance safety, and lower environmental pollution.
