India's Supreme Court has sharply criticized the Haryana Police and Child Welfare Committee for their insensitive handling of a three-year-old rape survivor's case, condemning the summoning of the minor to the police station. A new report specifically mentions Gurugram Police's conduct.

A teenage couple in Varanasi, aiming to marry instead of taking their UP Board exams, were intercepted by police. Officers responsibly escorted the students to their respective exam centers first. Post-examination, the 17-year-old girl was taken to the child welfare committee, and both were later permitted to return home after age verification.
