Italian bagpipers played at the Olympic curling stadium in Cortina D'Ampezzo, paying homage to the sport's Scottish heritage, much to the delight of spectators.

Chiharu Igaya, Japan's first Winter Olympic medalist from the 1956 Cortina d'Ampezzo Games, reunited after 70 years with the daughter of his hotel owner, who was also an Italian athlete.
