Costa Rica has ordered the closure of the Cuban embassy, a move that Cuba attributes to pressure from the United States.

Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves announced his administration does not recognize the Cuban government as legitimate and will close the Cuban embassy in San José due to the regime's repression, shortly after calling for the region to be free from communism.
