Andrija Nikolić, an MP from the Democratic Party of Socialists, urged the European Commission to promptly inform the Parliament of Montenegro whether internal affairs and national security agency laws, along with subsequent amendments, are compliant with EU standards, as this impacts the future of the Electoral Reform Committee.

The President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, stated that his party will withdraw from the Committee for Electoral Reform if certain conditions are not met, asserting there is no need to 'simulate democracy in a parliament where there is no democracy'.

Montenegro's comprehensive electoral reform committee ceased work at the end of last year, halting progress on crucial issues and requiring a new decision to resume efforts towards EU accession.
