Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna (Eesti 200) has urged Estonian citizens currently in the Middle East region to remain in the towns they have been staying in, where their safety can be ensured.

Nearly 3,000 Estonian citizens are in the Middle East, according to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and it is recommended that they contact the authorities.

The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its travel advice in light of the current situation in the Middle East. Estonian citizens in the region are advised to follow local information channels and the instructions of the countries they are currently in.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recommended any Estonian citizens currently in Israel leave the country, following the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran which began Saturday morning.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna (Eesti 200) said Monday morning that are no signs of Middle Eastern airspace reopening, which would allow Estonian citizens to return home.
