A popular citizens' initiative in Finland, aimed at reforming entrepreneurs' pensions (YEL), is estimated by the Finnish Centre for Pensions to lead to a substantial increase of about one-third in YEL contributions, despite its stated goal being the opposite.

A recent survey conducted by Animalia found that 64% of Finnish citizens would ban fur farming. The survey included 18,000 respondents from 20 different countries.
