Archaeologists have uncovered a hidden wooden platform beneath a Neolithic artificial island, known as a crannog, located in a loch on the Isle of Lewis.

A report has concluded that the mass stranding and subsequent euthanasia of 55 pilot whales on the Isle of Lewis in 2023 was caused by the mammals' loyalty to their pod, specifically following a female having a difficult birth.
