An extraordinary session of the Kosovo Assembly, called to vote on constitutional amendments for the direct election of the president by citizens, was interrupted due to a lack of quorum.

Ahead of the Kosovo Assembly session for the election of the president, Prime Minister Albin Kurti is expected to hold new meetings with the leaders of DPK and DSK, Bedri Hamza and Lumir Abdixhiku, in an effort to reach a political agreement.

The Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Aljbuljena Hadžiju, stated that a session to elect the President of Kosovo cannot be convened without at least two candidacies, with the deadline for applications expiring tomorrow and only one candidate received so far.

Kosovo Assembly President Aljbuljena Hadžiu stated she cannot convene a parliamentary session to elect the President of Kosovo without at least two proposals, each supported by a minimum of 30 parliamentary signatures.

The evening session of the Kosovo Assembly, which was scheduled to elect the President of Kosovo, has been canceled.
