Australian authorities are appealing for calm after riots erupted in response to the murder of five-year-old Aboriginal girl Kumanjayi Little Baby, with a suspect having been arrested.

Unrest has erupted in Alice Springs following the arrest of Jefferson Lewis in connection with the death of Kumanjayi Little Baby. Police have stated they will charge individuals involved in the subsequent disturbances.
