Four districts in northern Moldova will have their water supply temporarily cut off on March 14 due to ongoing pollution of the Dniester River with oil products, as announced by the Ministry of Environment.
Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu visited Soroca to monitor the situation on the Dnister River following an oil spill caused by a Russian attack. Additional filters and straw bales are being used in the water to manage the pollution that has spread into Moldova.
Oily patches have been observed on the surface of the Dniester River near Naslavcea village in Moldova. Environmental services have initiated an investigation and taken water samples, with the Moldovan Ministry of Environment requesting information from Ukraine.
