Twelve days after the start of the US-Israeli military campaign, Israelis are spending hours a day in bomb shelters as Iranian bombs pour on the country. But since the start of the conflict, neither the Prime minister nor the Defence minister have directly addressed the Israeli population. On top of that, the war is helping 'a de facto annexation of the West Bank', says FRANCE 24's Noga Tarnopolsky from Jerusalem.

Israel is seeing a decline in launches from Iran as the campaign enters its fifth day, although reasons for it remain unclear. The announcement from the Israeli military came after it said its air defences had been activated to intercept incoming Iranian missiles and explosions were heard around Jerusalem. Israel on Tuesday ordered the military to take control of more positions inside Lebanon to create a buffer zone, as the Lebanese army pulled back some of its forces after Hezbollah attacked Israeli bases in support of its backer, Iran. Lebanon was drawn into the regional war after an initial rocket attack on Israel by Hezbollah, which said it wanted to "avenge" the killing of Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the US-Israeli strikes.
