
Europe Heatwave Shatters Temperature Records, Causes Fatalities and Disruptions
A severe heatwave has swept across Europe, breaking temperature records in Germany and the Czech Republic, with Germany reaching a record 41.5C. The extreme heat has led to fatalities, including a 6-year-old boy in Germany and a person in Hungary, and caused disruptions to transport and energy production, with a nuclear plant in Hungary reducing output due to high water temperatures in the Danube.
