Sri Lanka's former police chief, Pujith Jayasundara, and former Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Hemasiri Fernando, have been sentenced to death for their failure to prevent bomb attacks.

The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar has rejected a request from Pujith Jayasundara to amend his dock statement, a development in his ongoing legal proceedings.
