Former Sint Maarten minister and parliament member Omar Ottley and his brother were arrested on suspicion of assault stemming from a conflict during Carnival celebrations in April.

Scammers are targeting tourists traveling to Sint Maarten by creating fake websites that charge for the official ED card, which is supposed to be free.

Prime Minister Jetten is undertaking his first work visit to the Caribbean Netherlands, scheduled to visit Sint Maarten, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Bonaire, Aruba, and Curaçao until May 14.
