A faction of Nigeria's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the police of bias after they unsealed the party's secretariat, arguing that the action interferes with a matter still under judicial review.

Tensions have escalated within the Ekiti PDP as Nyesom Wike’s camp disowns the governorship candidate, fueling a deep leadership and factional crisis. This follows earlier clashes between factions loyal to Wike and Taminu Turaki over the party's leadership and candidate for the upcoming election.

The Peoples Democratic Party, Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee, said it will move to the Supreme Court to challenge the Appeal Court judgment over the party leadership.
