Singapore Airlines has become the first international carrier to sell tickets for Sydney's new A$5.3 billion (US$3.7 billion) Western Sydney International Airport, announcing a daily 24-hour service to Changi from November 23.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is scheduled to begin daily flights to the new Western Sydney International Airport starting in November, with tickets for the new route going on sale from Wednesday (March 25).

Australia is planning a high-speed rail line connecting Newcastle and Sydney, projected to cost $61.2 billion, with an additional line to Western Sydney international airport costing $32.4 billion, aiming for a one-hour journey by 2039.
