The Netherlands has extended the mission of its air defense and command frigate Zr. Ms. Evertsen by an additional month, until early May, to aid in defense against Iranian drones in the region.

France has requested the Netherlands to send its warship, Zr. Ms. Evertsen, from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean to support the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, despite Dutch public reluctance for involvement.

Despite existing concerns, a majority in the Dutch House of Representatives appears convinced by the Cabinet's decision to deploy the warship Zr. Ms. Evertsen to protect allies, following a technical briefing.
