Manhunt after woman stabbed while stopping to help a dog in trouble

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 20 - Police have launched a manhunt for the person who stabbed a 54-year-old woman after she stopped her car on a highway in the northern province of Lodi late on Tuesday to help a dog in trouble, sources said on Wednesday. The woman, a biologist, is in a critical condition after being stabbed three times but managed to tell investigators what happened. There do not appear to have been any eye-witnesses to the attack.
