June 21: The Destruction of Psara During Greek Revolution
On June 21 and 22, 1824, during the Greek Revolution, the Ottoman fleet captured and completely destroyed Psara, leading to the massacre and capture of thousands of inhabitants and neutralizing a key naval power.
