Lithuanian Ethics Commission to Decide on Probe into Language Inspectorate Head's Controversial Remarks
Lithuania's Culture Minister Vaida Aleknavičienė announced an investigation into whether the head of the State Language Inspectorate, Audrius Valotka, overstepped boundaries by publicly stating that the words "negras" and "čigonas" are permissible, with the Chief Official Ethics Commission (VTEK) now set to decide whether to launch its own probe.
