India Criticizes Elections in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir as Cover for Illegal Occupation

India has stated that elections in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are an effort to cover up illegal occupation. This comes amidst reports of about 40 deaths since June in clashes between Pakistani security forces and protesters demanding the abolition of reserved seats in the local assembly for refugees from the Indian region of Jammu and Kashmir.
