Ex BR man gets 6 years for cop killing

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 7 - A former member of the leftist militant group the Red Brigades (BR) on Tuesday got six years in jail over the death of a Carabiniere near Alessandria in Piedmont in 1975. The former militant, Lauro Azzolini, will serve the term in tandem with another conviction. BR founders Renato Curcio and Mario Moretti saw their charges in the death of Giovanni D'Alfonso at Cascina Spiotta case timed out under the statute of limitations.
