Serbian Bird Protection Society Reports New Species and Unexpected Numbers in Winter Census

The Society for the Protection and Study of Birds of Serbia announced that its January bird census recorded a large number of cranes, pintails, black-necked grebes, common scoters, Eurasian bitterns, and marsh harriers, along with a newly identified species.

Društvo za zaštitu i proučavanje ptica Srbije saopštilo je danas da je popis ptica u januaru registrovao veliku brojnost ždralova, šiljkana, crnovratih gnjuraca, morske crnke, vodenih bikova, eja močvarica, inače vrlo malobrojnih zimovalica, dok je "na zimovanju" u Srbiji prvi put potvrđena i jedna nova vrsta - čapljica.
