Scientists Map Pesticide-Cancer Link Across Peru for the First Time

French and Peruvian scientists have developed a new method to map the impact of pesticides on cancer incidence at a national level, demonstrating a significant spatial correlation between pesticide exposure and higher cancer rates in Peru. The study was published in Nature Health.

Francouzští a peruánští vědci popsali nový způsob, jak na úrovni celé země mapovat vliv pesticidů na výskyt rakoviny. Studie zveřejněná v odborném časopise Nature Health ukázala v Peru výraznou prostorovou souvislost mezi vystavením pesticidům a vyšším výskytem některých typů rakoviny ve více než 400 oblastech.
