Brno Completes New Tram Tunnel Construction

The third tram tunnel in Brno has been successfully bored, with workers excavating over 300 meters using several tons of explosives over four months. The tunnel will serve trams heading to the Kamechy housing estate, with the first trams expected in 18 months.

Třetí brněnský tramvajový tunel je proražený. Dělníci vyhloubili přes 300 metrů dlouhou štolu, kterou budou jezdit tramvaje směrem na sídliště Kamechy. Trvalo jim to čtyři měsíce a spotřebovali při tom několik tun výbušnin. První tramvaje tunelem projedou už za rok a půl.
