Jean-Pierre Farandou, French labor minister: 'We cannot bring France to a halt every time it hits 30°C'

With the intense heatwave exposing many workers to dangerous temperatures, the labor minister rejected the idea of climate leave, but said he was open to holding talks with unions and employers' organizations on how to better organize working conditions during extreme weather events.
