Traditional Cormorant Fishing Begins on Japan's Nagara River
The traditional "Ukai" cormorant fishing season began on the Nagara River in Gifu Prefecture on the evening of the 11th, with many spectators watching the skilled cormorant fishermen catch ayu fish under the light of bonfires.
