Swept away 55km by raging river, elephant survives extraordinary flood ordeal in Assam

A 53-year-old elephant survived a 55-kilometer journey down a swollen river. She was carried from Nagaland through turbulent floodwaters and rough terrain. The animal finally washed ashore in Assam with an injured leg and exhaustion. Veterinary teams are now providing round-the-clock medical care for the elephant. This event highlights the immense power of the recent Assam-Nagaland border floods.
