Italy's tax burden up to 37.6% in first quarter says Istat

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 1 - Italy's tax burden stood at 37.6% in the first quarter of 2026, 0.3 of a percentage point higher than in the same period of last year, ISTAT said on Wednesday. The national statistics agency said households' gross disposable income increased by 1.6% over the previous quarter in nominal terms, while their final consumption expenditure grew by 1.4%.
