Critically Endangered Ground Squirrels Decline in Czech Republic
The population of critically endangered ground squirrels near Mohelenská hadcová stepe in the Czech Republic has drastically decreased, with numbers falling from 140 in 2020 to just 40 last year, partly due to predation by cats hiding in tall grass.
