Nelson Council Expedites Sewerage Repairs Following Rain Damage and Water Contamination

The Nelson council has fast-tracked sewerage repairs after rain damage led to elevated levels of faecal coliforms and enterococci in the Maitai River and estuary. A rāhui remains in place over the affected waterways due to the contamination.
