Magistrates' Arrears Could Cost Italy One Billion Euros

After losing in the Council of State, the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance has increased the 2018-2020 salary increase for magistrates from 4.85% to 6.82%, requiring nearly 200 million euros. With subsequent years also in play, the total cost could rise to one billion euros, posing a new challenge for the budget.
