Portuguese NHS Drug Spending Rises Over 60% Since Pandemic

Portugal's National Health Service (SNS) saw its expenditure on medicines increase by over 60% since the pandemic, reaching 2.523,2 million euros for hospital drugs and 1.893,8 million for outpatient co-payments in 2025.
