EU Court Adviser Questions Ireland’s Nitrates Derogation in Water Quality Case
The European Court of Justice (CJEU) has received an opinion from its advocate general, advising that Ireland can only legally approve increased nitrogen limits for farms after scientifically determining that water quality objectives will not be prejudiced. The High Court has sought this EU opinion regarding the government's duty to protect against farm pollution.
