Four people, including two teenagers, were killed in Belgium on Tuesday when a train crashed into a school bus on a level crossing near the town of Buggenhout, RTL TV reported, citing Transport Minister Jean-Luc Crucke. The victims also included the bus driver and an adult accompanying the pupils, ⁠RTL quoted Crucke as saying. Two other people were ‌also severely injured. The accident occurred early on Tuesday at a ‌level crossing near Buggenhout station, about 23km (14 miles) from Brussels....

Four dead after train and school bus collide in Belgium

A train hit a school minibus in the Belgian town of Buggenhout on the morning of May 26, with at least four people killed, including two children. The cause of the crash is not immediately clear, neither is the reason why the bus was on the tracks. Belgium's rail agency says footage from the scene shows barriers at the crossing had been closed and a red light was showing when the incident happened. Several people died after a passenger train struck a school minibus at a railway crossing in the Belgian town of Buggenhout on Tuesday morning. The collision took place shortly after 08:00 local time at a level crossing about one kilometre from Buggenhout station, according to Belgian police and railway officials. Emergency crews, ambulances and fire services rushed to the scene as authorities closed the crossing and halted rail traffic in the area.
