Child and Student Suicides in Japan Reach Record High in 2022
The number of suicides among elementary, middle, and high school students in Japan reached 538 last year, marking the highest figure since statistics began in 1980. While overall suicides decreased, the number among young people rose, partly attributed to financial difficulties.
