Askou wants energy as Motherwell eye Scottish Cup progress

Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou knows his side will need a sharp and energetic performance to defeat Aberdeen in their Scottish Cup tie at Pittodrie on Wednesday, after being made to work for three points in their Premiership clash on Sunday. The Steelmen were 2-0 winners at Fir Park but it was a close match until Tom McIntyre's late own goal put the game out Aberdeen's reach. Askou felt his side made things a little difficult for themselves at the weekend and knows his players will need to step up again if they are to progress to a quarter-final against Dunfermline.
