US House Extends Surveillance Law After Internal Divisions

The U.S. House of Representatives approved a short-term extension of a controversial surveillance law, Section 702 of FISA, after rejecting a compromise bill and facing internal divisions within the Republican leadership. The measure, which allows warrantless surveillance of non-Americans abroad, was extended for 10 days.
