Google, OpenAI & Anthropic come together to fight Silicon Valley's 'Chinese problem'

Three of America's biggest tech rivals—OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google—are sharing intelligence through the Frontier Model Forum to combat distillation attacks from Chinese AI labs. Anthropic has named DeepSeek, Moonshot, and MiniMax as having run industrial-scale extraction campaigns against Claude using 24,000 fraudulent accounts. Both companies have flagged the threat to US lawmakers, framing unauthorized distillation as a national security risk, not just a commercial one.
