Lithuanian Officer Awarded €40,000 for Damages After Nine-Year Legal Battle
Lithuanian police officer Tomas Lebežinskas was awarded 40,000 euros in non-pecuniary damages by the state. He had been involved in a nine-year legal process and even served a sentence for injuring a drunk assailant, despite not committing a crime.
