Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has replaced the long-serving Defense Minister, Padrino, who is under US sanctions for alleged drug trafficking and support for Maduro. Padrino's rise began under Maduro, having previously led a ceremonial guard unit under Hugo Chávez.
