NASA Announces Plans for Lunar Base, Cancels Orbiting Station

NASA has unveiled ambitious plans to build a permanent lunar base within the next decade, committing $20 billion to the project and opting to cancel a previously considered orbiting lunar station. The first crewed mission in over 50 years is expected next week.
