Efforts to save endangered freshwater mussels in Finland's Karvianjoki river

Conservation efforts are underway to rescue the dying freshwater mussel population in Finland's Karvianjoki river, the only river in Satakunta where these mussels still live. Some of the oldest mussels are estimated to be up to a hundred years old, highlighting the urgency of the restoration work.
