Rezultati pilot projekta HPV skrininga u Srbiji pokazali su da je infekcija humanim papiloma virusom (HPV) prisutna kod svake osme testirane žene, dok su promene na ćelijama grlića materice registrovane kod znatno manjeg broja ispitanica, što dodatno potvrđuje značaj ranog otkrivanja i potencijal za unapređenje nacionalnog programa prevencije raka grlića materice.
