This week marks nearly 60 years since the last known duel in Europe, which originated from a verbal altercation in the French parliament on April 20, 1967, between a socialist mayor and a socialist faction leader.

Hlavní aktéři: socialistický starosta Marseille a předseda socialistické frakce v Národním shromáždění Gaston Defferre a gaullistický poslanec René Ribière.
