Endangered Sand Martin Nests Destroyed at Construction Site in Tornio
Nests of critically endangered sand martins were destroyed at a pipeline construction site in Tornio, Finland, after a trench wall collapsed due to heavy rain, and other started nests were also eliminated. The city is now seeking permission to remove the remaining nests.
