History of Actor Training in Latvia Without State Support
The first acting courses in Latvia were established in 1909 without state support, led by Jēkabs Duburs and Zeltmatis (Ernests Kārkliņš). Jēkabs Duburs remains a recognized name, with an award occasionally given in his honor by the Latvian Theater Workers' Union.
